Today’s free tip is in the UEFA Europa League encounter between Progres Niedercorn and Qabala in Luxembourg. The first leg ended 2-0 to the Luxembourgian side, and as they’re now playing host to their Azeri opposition, things are looking rather rosy for them.
Over the years, I think that Azeri and Luxembourgian football has improved more than most domestic leagues in Europe, particularly the latter. Teams from each country have been “surprising” opponents everywhere, especially Qarabagh FK. Indeed, Progres Niedercorn themselves were responsible for Rangers FC’s premature exit from the UEFA Europa League in recent times so these are not teams that should be underestimated nowadays.
I did not give a tip for the first leg of this tie because I didn’t see enough of a quality gap between the two teams to call it. However, based on what I saw in the first leg, anything but another impressive win for Progres Niedercorn would be a surprise. Qabala are not a bad side but they were made to look pretty bang average by a clever and hard-working Progres Niedercorn side. Qabala just don’t look like they’re ready to play in competitive matches yet, which I find odd. They’ve been poor in recent friendlies and poor in European football. Unless they significantly turn it on today, it’s hard to expect anything better from them. As much as I like the team’s star, French forward Joseph-Monrose, he needs to be part of an attacking team (as he often demonstrated in Belgian football) because without that, he’s pretty redundant and there’s no way Progres Niedercorn will let them play on the break here. Qabala don’t look capable of being that attacking team right now though.
Admittedly, Progres Niedercorn don’t need to win this game. Theoretically, they could lose it and still go through, which is probably why the odds are as long as they are. However, anybody that has watched Qabala in recent times will know that the right thing to do is to oppose them. I don’t doubt Progres Niedercorn being a touch cautious here but they’re still a very tenacious team that likes to play good football so I can still see them having a go. An early goal for them really seals the deal here so I expect them to do enough in attack to actually win this game.
Therefore, I believe that the value lies in backing the home team with draw no bet cover.
Verdict: Progres Niedercorn to win with draw no bet at 6/5.
