Stoke to beat Everton! Ian, with all my respect, it's just as ridiculous as yesterday's Rennes to beat Lyon..anyway I trust this Everton much more, football-wise, than this Stoke.. Everton to beat -0.75 AH.

Well, if you watched Rennes vs Lyon, you'd have seen Rennes cause Lyon a world of pain for the majority of the match. They have a poor record there too.

Then take Everton, and the best of luck to you, Svet.

I too would love to know Ian's logic behind this one. I know Everton haven't got an abundance of goals in them but koemans teams are well drilled and I fully expect them to beat stoke at Goodison! Tricky place for any team to go.

Sure thing.

Koeman has lost a very important player and hasn't replaced him. He's made bad signings in my book. Perhaps "bad" is a harsh term because most of signings are not bad players; they're simply not better than what Everton already had. They've got more depth in their squad so they can compete on more fronts but where will their goals come from? Rooney has not played a good game of football at this level for five years. Klaassen is a decent, hard-working player - but nothing more than that. Sigurdsson would be a class act if they could sew things up there but there's a lot of new faces in this squad and not much change. I've not been at all impressed with them and although I don't suffer from any illusions that Stoke are some magnificent team, I do think that they're more settled than Everton right now with a more experienced EPL boss.

Still, the above are my thoughts, and I have not tipped this game because it's not worth the risk. If you want to take it, then the best of luck to you, DCUpro.

There is one who is better than everything Stoke has, called Sandro Ramirez, and even Rooney;) . As to the very important player, we are going to see what he'll do in MU. It's not my job to comment manager's decisions but he will be the next "excellent" signing alongside Pogba, I think. Everton also has Koeman which is not a circumstance to ignore. As the game showed, indeed, Everton did not push enough to kill Stoke with a second goal but they limited poor guests to just one long range shot on goal in 94'.

Well, that's the decider, isn't it? The team with the better strikers must always win :) I question why this "better striker" costs less than 10 million - and if he's so good, why is he at Everton and not back at FCB with their buy-back clause?

I don't follow you. Ramirez will be the next good signing alongside Pogba? What do you mean? You think United will buy him from Everton? Or you think Pogba plays for Everton? Or you think it's a top signing for the EPL alongside Pogba?

Koeman is a hugely overrated manager. He shouts until he gets what he wants. It works for a period of time but not beyond. Everton will see this in the next twelve months.

It was a dreadful game from both teams where little happened. Stoke were shocking and had very few chances; Everton were very similar. "Limited" is a very generous term you've used as neither side managed to control this game with any real purpose.

I was talking about "Koeman has lost a very important player..." thinking you were talking about Lukaku (who is more overrated player than Koeman is a manager, in my view). Regarding Ramirez, there is no place in Barcelona for him as well as for one like Lukaku, for example. Talking about betting, yes this has been one of the most "sure" things, to me, to bet pregame- Everton to beat at home this idea-less team Stoke.

I still don't understand, sorry. What's your point - that you think Ramirez is better than Lukaku? Sure, people overrated Lukaku. People overrate a lot of players. Lukaku has his uses, though, just as Ramirez does. I see. So other clubs in Spain didn't want this promising striker for less than 10 mil? Well, good on you, bud. I'm glad you profited from Everton!
