Settled Arsenal Can Be A Force For The Future

With a settled squad and a manager in Mikel Arteta who has been making steady progress at the club, Arsenal are showing signs that they could be the team to beat in the Premier League in the years to come.

While the Gunners find themselves in the midst of another Premier League title race this season, the north London outfit look like a team that can be a real force in the English top flight going forward.

Gunners Have Built From Last Season

Squandering an eight-point lead to miss out on the title last season to Manchester City, Arsenal have shown that their last campaign at the top end of the table was no fluke. The Gunners are 5/2 in the Premier League winner odds to overcome the final hurdle they just fell short of last season. Premier League predictions also have Man City at 15/8 to record an unprecedented fourth consecutive title for Pep Guardiola’s side but Arsenal should have plenty to say on the matter. There has been little to choose from between the two sides this season, as their goalless draw at the Etihad Stadium in early April highlighted.

Unlike last year, this season’s Premier League title race also has Liverpool in the mix after what was a disappointing 2022/23 campaign for the Merseyside outfit. Looking far more like their former selves, Liverpool are the other formidable rival in what could be one of the most exciting Premier League title races ever. Arsenal will be hoping lessons learnt from last season will hold them in good stead for the challenges that will undoubtedly come for the remainder of the campaign. However, no matter what happens this season, there is reason for Gunners fans to be optimistic about what the future can bring.

Arsenal Could Take Over

With Manchester City being pushed hard for the title this season and Liverpool set to bid farewell to world-class manager Jürgen Klopp this summer, Arsenal are well-placed to be a Premier League force going forward. The Gunners recruited well last season, with the arrival of Declan Rice being a significant boost for the side in a crucial area in the heart of midfield. There were questions on whether Rice could make the step up after his move from West Ham United last summer but the England international has proved his doubters wrong.

Spending an initial £100m to bring Rice to the Emirates was a sign of intent from Arsenal and it’s a move that looks to have taken this side to the next level. With the Gunners set to return to the Champions League next season, expect further top-quality signings to arrive through the doors at the Emirates this summer.

There is no doubt that Man City and Liverpool have been the standout teams in recent years, with Klopp and Guardiola battling the English crown. However, Arsenal have been building something special in the capital over the last couple of years and exciting times might well be ahead of the Gunners under the passionate Arteta.
