Goal keepers aren’t known for their goal scoring capabilities, normally, but over the years there have been some absolutely amazing goals scored by keepers.

Sometimes they are amazing because they are genuinely good shots, other times, because, well what where they even doing attempting that in the first place!

From going up for a corner to hoofing and hoping, the goals come in all shapes and sizes, here is our rundown of some of our favourites.

Rogerio Ceni was keeper for Sao Paulo when he scored this goal against Corinthians, his 100th goal.

Ceni is credited as the most prolific goal scorer who is meant to spent their time at the other end of the pitch.

5. Peter Schmeichel

I can’t believe we’re already half way through this list.

Growing up, Peter Schemeichel was my favourite goal keeper, he played for Manchester United and this is a great goal against Rotor Volgograd

6. Martin Hansen

ADO Den Haag can thank Martin Hansen for this cracker against PSV

7. Mart Poom

Sunderland will remember Mart Poom for scoring against Derby Country

8. Rene Higuita

Rene Higuita from Atletico Nacional scored this goal against River Plate

9. Ali Ahamada

Toulouse managed to score this goal against Stage Rennais with the help of their keeper Ali Ahamada

10. Jimmy Glass

In at number 10, but by no means least, is Jimmy Glass from Carlisle United scoring against Plymouth Argyle
