Borussia Dortmund hosts Lazio

Borussia Dortmund hosts Lazio at the Signal Iduna Park in a game from Group F of the
Champions League. We are going to spend some time to preview this fixture for you as well as our
free soccer tips for today, which can be found on our daily tips page. Let’s get to work.

These two European giants are currently fighting for the first place in this group. At this
moment Dortmund are leading the standings with 9 points won, but Lazio are second with
just one point behind. For the Italian club this is a chance to overtake Die Borussen and
claim the first place just one round before the end of the group stage.

Borussia Dortmund on the other hand will try to avenge the defeat they suffered at the
Olimpico in Rome. Maybe you remember that the first game between these two teams
ended with a 3-1 win for the Italians. Erling Haaland scored for Dortmund, but Lazio took
the win with goals from Immobile and Akpro. Borussia’s Hitz had the bad luck to score
himself an own goal.

Lazio didn’t send us very good signals in their last Serie A game, though. On Sunday
Simone Inzaghi’s team hosted Udinese at the Olimpico, but were disappointed with a bleak
performance and a 1-3 loss. Ciro Immobile scored Lazio’s only goal from a penalty kick,
but this didn’t help much. If Lazio want to take something from Borussia Dortmund they
must perform in a totally different way.

Erling Haaland is the man to watch in Borussia Dortmund`s squad. The Norwegian striker
is getting better and better with every game. Just look at his statistics – he has scored 17
goals in 14 games in all competitions for Die Borussen this season. In the Champions
League he has scored 6 goals in four matches since the beginning of the group stage.
Keeping Haaland quiet must be Lazio’s main priority in terms of defending at the Signal
Iduna Park.

Just like Lazio though, Borussia Dortmund also suffered a surprising and disappointing
home defeat during the weekend. Lucien Favre’s team hosted Koln at home, but lost this
game with 1-2. Thorgan Hazard scored Dortmund’s only goal in the game, but before this
Koln had scored twice.

Favre could be doing some changes in his line-up for the next game. Against Koln he
started players like Thorgan Hazard, Giovanni Reyna and Jude Bellingham from the
bench. After a defeat like this he could want to rotate his starting eleven and these three
players are a fine option for this.

Both teams have the same goal in mind and this is the first place in Group F of Europe’s most prestigious competition. Lazio already won the first round in Rome, but now Dortmund have the chance to strike back. It’s a curious fact that both teams lost their last games in their domestic leagues, so it’s really
difficult to say which one is in better or worst shape right now. Let’s see.
