RIP Jens Carl – October 2019

I’m extremely sad to announce that we’ve recently lost an integral part of the TFT team – a great man by the name of Jens Carl, who has helped the site for many years with his unrivalled coverage of the Swedish Allsvenskan. Not only was he very good at it but he was also someone I’d become friends with on a personal level. It’s hard enough to lose anyone you’re close to in life, I suppose, but somehow I found it even more galling in this instance because he was so young and had a family too. I don’t think it’d be unfair to say that he had his struggles in life but he always made time for his friends and he possessed a great deal of wisdom, which he regularly applied in the classroom in his day job as a teacher. Speaking to him in general was a great pleasure, and I will miss him dearly.

Adios, mate – and thank you for your invaluable contribution to both the website and my life.
