After That Annihlation…

…I now feel rather rejuvenated physically! Also, I think I hear the sound of our so-called “rivals” quaking in their boots at the terror an under-strength United squad can unleash. “under-strength” is probably not the best phrasing, actually – we were missing 10 first team players for this game and still beat West Brom 5-0. Whereas I do appreciate they are bottom of the league, they’re certainly not mugs but even they would surely admit that 5-0 flattered them, not us!

Surprise of the night has to be Leicester drawing at home – I saw odds of 1/4 for Leicester to win that game! Bizarre!

Actually, no. There was a bigger surprise than this later on in the night when El Nacional of Ecuador entertained Nacional Asuncion of Paraguay. El Nacional were odds on to win this game and with good reason – home advantage, tournament experience, better side etc. yet somehow managed to lose this game 5-0!! I watched the game on the Internet up until the 2nd goal, at which point I decided El Nacional were no longer going to helpfully contribute to my bet. Both  goals were absolutely stunning strikes, to be fair. I checked the result in the morning and was pretty gobsmacked, really. I don’t mind being wrong with my tips on occasion; I’m good, not God! I tend to find that 90-95% of the time, what I expect to happen does happen or there’s the odd goal/refereeing decision which tilts it away – I can handle that fine, that’s just football. But I don’t think I’ve ever been so completely wrong in my tips since I’ve started doing them as I was when I discovered this 5-0 defeat – there’s just no justification for such a result! So let’s all go and invade Ecuador!

There’s a lot of good games to bet on tonight, you’ll be happy to know! My personal favourites are an Italian Job containing AS Roma, Atalanta Bergamo and Juventus or alternatively you could plump for Independiente Medellin, West Ham United and Caracas.
