Barcelona vs Osasuna
FreeToday’s featured game is one of little consequence for the hosts Barcelona, as they prepare for their mid-week trip to Rome to take on Manchester United in the UEFA Champions League final. With one eye on that game, it’s almost a given that Pep Guardiola will rest some key players for this encounter. For the visitors Osasuna, however, this game is more than vital. With their last game being a home encounter with Real Madrid, the Pamplona-based outfit need all the points they can get to climb away from the relegation zone, which now suddenly looks very large with just two games remaining in the Spanish Primera Liga. Basque sides like Osasuna are hard enough to play against when they’re up for the fight, especially if you don’t adopt the correct mentality, but when they have to win, they can be real terriers. The reasons given above are the reason I’ve backed a 1-1 draw here. I’m not sure how beneficial it will be to the visitors if they get it, and I’m sure the hosts couldn’t really care less. Osasuna are capable of getting a point here, and on the back of their recent run of poor form, Barcelona might not be feeling quite as confident as usual.

There’s masses I like the look of today, which, given that most of these encounters are at the latter stages of their respective seasons, is somewhat worrying! All I can emphasise is to approach with caution where possible.

The game that catches my attention most odds-wise today is Real Valladolid. They’re at home to lowly Sporting Gijon and although the hosts’ form doesn’t really show it, they’re capable of very good perfromances, particularly at home. With little left to play for, not many will take them on but at 13/10, I consider them a bargain!
