Congratulations To Rubin Kazan!

Bizarre defeats on monday for Birmingham City and Aston Villa – the rest of the night was happily predictable in my eyes.

 

Also, a big congratulations to Rubin Kazan who have won their first ever Russian Premier Liga title to my knowledge! Although this happened at weekend, I wasn’t aware that the points were now sufficient to mean they had won the title, although I was aware just how far in front they were. An old face popped up over the weekend to score the winning goal for Rubin too – former Serbian international striker Savo Milosevic. It’ll be fascinating to see how the Kazan-based outfit perform in the Champions League next year with few notable names but consistently strong performances. Let’s not forget also that no trip to Russia is an easy one!
