Incidentally, my apologies for the game listed yesterday as “Heart of Midlothian vs Celtic“, as it should have read “Heart of Midlothian vs Dundee United” but I was let down by a site I use for fixtures!
Anyway, today’s previewed game is in the Russian Premier League. It’s a clash between two of the giants of the division as CSKA Moscow host Zenit St Petersburg. The games between these two sides can be really hit-and-miss but at the present time, I think it’s fair to say CSKA Moscow are the better side. Both sides have made a good start to the campaign and currently possess 2nd and 3rd place respectively. Interestingly enough, CSKA Moscow have only won once at home his season from three games. Their visitors have only won one game from four away from home this season, so I suspect something’s got to give because I can’t see the game being a draw. Both sides will be eager to lead the table and have the pack following. I think we’ll see an open encounter with plenty of goals but I’m going to back a 3-1 victory for the hosts. Coach Zico may underestimate weaker opponents in the Russian Premier League, but he always does his homework on the bigger sides, which is partially the reasoning behind my call. I don’t think Zenit St Petersburg are currently good enough to cause the hosts any specific damage. Safest bet is probably to go over 2.5 goals.

My tips:
Today I’m going to do something I very rarely do by recommending a cleansweep of a league. The league in question this time is the Finnish Veikkausliiga. I had a great set of predictions for the games on thursday, 100% correct in terms of outcome if I recall correctly, which makes the likelihood of another cleansweep even less likely, but I have to admit – I really fancy this one! I recommend backing HJK Helsinki, TPS Turku, Honka Espoo, Haka Valkeakoski, FC Lahti, and IFK Mariehamn in a bet that should be about 44/1 so a bit of luck needs to be on our side for this. Inexplicably, I really fancy this bet though, so good luck if you back it!
