Dinamo Minsk vs Belshina
FreeWell, despite yesterday being rather good on the value front, it was horrifically marred by Barcelona somehow losing at home to impotent little Hercules Alicante without even scoring a goal. As loyal TFT user Marz put it, this result was nothing short of “Armageddon”! Bayern and Werder Bremen’s game was also destructive too, somehow producing a bizarre under 2.5 goals outcome so apologies there guys!
Anyway, today’s previews will be a tad minimal as I’m short on time so apologies there too! I’m happy to explain further if you have any queries today – I just don’t have much time currently.
The featured game today is the Vysshaya Liga encounter between Belarusian giants Dinamo Minsk and Belshina. Having now exited European competition, Dinamo can now fully focus on their domestic campaign and they’ve got an interesting game today to begin it against feisty and well-organised Belshina side.
First of all, however – Dinamo Minsk are the better side, to be blunt. Their home record this season isn’t as convincing as it should be due to two factors – a poor start and their European committments. Aside from that, Dinamo Minsk have been excellent at home with some very convincing and clinical displays. They’re well-organised at the back and have a very able midfield, which is always a factor in their dominant displays. The emerging talents Chukhley, Dragun, and captain Kislyak in midfield have served Dinamo really well this year with all three linking up well in their team. They can call upon Chukhley and Rekish so midfield is definitely their strongpoint.
Visitors Belshina had a great start to the season but have wavered a little of late due to the lengthy Vysshaya Liga season catching up with them. They’re not a goalscoring side; just a defensive side at most. They lost 3-0 at Dinamo Minsk earlier this season and little has changed since then – they’re still an inferior outfit as results against other Belarusian giants has indicated al too well. Bluntly, I don’t fancy their chances here although they are hard to break down.
I fancied Dinamo Minsk a lot before these odds came out but at 4/5, they’re virtually a steal. If they turn up fully here, they’ll not only win the game but break the handicap. With nothing else to play for, I expect a good display from Dinamo and a win for the giants at generous odds of 4/5 against their inferior newly-promoted opponents.
Verdict: Dinamo Minsk to win at 4/5.

My tips:
As ever, below are my recommended value tips for today in no particular order:
River Plate vs Arsenal de Sarandi – both sides to score at 4/5.
Both sides have been scoring goals for fun this season and Arsenal have scored in every game whilst playing very well. River are slowly returning to their best and target man Pavone is now close to full fitness to boost their attack. I don’t know about a winner here but both sides really should score.
Verdict: Both sides to score at 4/5.
Dnepr Mogilev vs FC Minsk – away win at 21/20.
I don’t bet against Dnper Mogilev at home often but I am today given the excellent form of FC Minsk, not to mention their arsenal of attacking power. The hosts look a tad jaded from European football and the visitors are looking very good with European football in their sights so I fancy them today.
Verdict: FC Minsk to win at 21/20.
Botafogo vs Sao Paulo – over 2.5 goals at 10/11.
Both sides are scoring goals for fun currently – simply as that, really!
Verdict: Over 2.5 goals at 10/11.
Deportivo Pereira vs Once Caldas Manizales – over 2.5 goals at 11/10.
Pereira don’t score many but Once Caldas complete inability to defend should see this game go over 2.5 goals. Once Caldas are the better side and score a lot of goals too, which helps the bet, but I expect bad defending to play a bigger part in this game than clinical finishing!
Verdict: Over 2.5 goals at 11/10.
Hradec Kralove vs Slavia Prague – both sides to score at 10/11.
Hradec are decent at home and Slavia can’t defend, simply. Slavia are the better side but they’ve not convinced this season. Name alone makes Slavia Prague to win at 5/4 look tempting but I’m avoiding that because of their lack of goalscoring power and their inability to defend. Close call, but the odds are decent enough to take a chance on.
Verdict: Both sides to score at 10/11.
Viktoria Plzen vs Usti nad Labem – home win with -1.5 handicap at 4/5.
Plzen are going from strength to strength this season and I don’t see why it shouldn’t continue today. They’re the best side in the Czech Republic currently and I expect them to win this game comfortably, particularly against one of the worst sides in the Gambrinus Liga.
Verdict: Viktoria Plzen to beat the -1.5 goal handicap at 4/5.
B68 Toftir vs B71 Sandur – home win at 4/5.
Better side, good at home, and the visitors don’t travel – odds seem a tad generous to me!
Verdict: B68 Toftir to win at 4/5.
Groningen vs FC Utrecht – home win at evens.
Groningen don’t score enough to be consistently backed but they’re a good side nonetheless. Utrecht have their eyes on their trip to Naples next week and they don’t have a big enough squad to deal with two competitions so they should struggle here. It should be a tight and low-scoring affair but I expect a home win as a result.
Verdict: Groningen to win at evens.
Valerenga Oslo vs Stabaek – home win at 4/5.
Valerenga lost Abdellaoue, who was their best striker. That will impact them eventually. However, Stabaek cannot play away from the Telenor because their home ground is artificial turf so they should struggle here. Valerenga have goals all over their team and Stabaek can’t defend for shit, although they can also score goals for fun too so over 2.5 goals looks good too. Nonetheless, the home win looks good as Valerenga are playing well and have a lot of goals in them.
Verdict: Valerenga Oslo to win at 4/5.
Odd Grenland Skien vs Aalesund – home win at 4/5.
Artificial home turf is hard to play on and it’s Odd’s only real advantage in a disappointing season. However, Aalesund have rocketed down since their European football and are leaking far too many goals. They don’t score many goals so any goals conceded tend to be fatal and thus I expect a home win to occur here in a fairly uninteresting game.
Verdict: Odd Grenland Skien to win at 4/5.
Ruch Chorzow vs Legia Warsaw – away win at 5/4.
Ruch have no good players left barring Sedlok, who has agreed to move to Polonia Warsaw in the next transfer window. Despite contrdicting results, they have no goal threat so the onus is on Legia here. Legia have a better side and although they’ve not played well so far this season, they have more than enough available to them to make 5/4 good value today.
Verdict: Legia Warsaw to win at 5/4.
Portimonense vs Rio Ave – home win at 7/5.
Tight game between two relegation-threatened sides but the hosts are at least scoring goals; Rio Ave are not. Risky call so approach with caution but the odds seem just a little bit generous.
Verdict: Portimonense to win at 7/5.
Lokomotiv Moscow vs CSKA Moscow – away win at 10/11.
I hate low odds on derbies but Lokomotiv are dismal currently and CSKA are on fire. Approach with caution due to CSKA’s european committments but CSKA are by far the better of these two sides at the moment and look far more potent as only Aliev is scoring for Lokomotiv so we should see an away win here.
Verdict: CSKA Moscow to win at 10/11.
