FH Hafnarfjordur vs Fylkir Reyjkavik

Interestingly, in the last eight games between these two sides, the home side has never won. There has been six away wins and two draws. I’m hoping the bookies have read too much into that and given good odds on a home win because I’ve never seen FH Hafnarfjordur play as well as they are playing currently. They’re averaging nearly four goals a game at home and look on course for yet another win. Fylkir Reykjavik will make the hosts work for the victory but I think taking the hosts to win here is a very realistic possibility and could well be at some very good odds. However, my focal point of today’s previewed game is to take the under 2.5 goals card. Why? FH Hafnarfjordur will be resting players for next week’s key European Champions League encounter with Aktobe Lento. However, they should have enough to dispose of their opponents tonight but without their usual flair.

Liga de Quito vs Internacional – home win. The Ecuadorian outfit won the first leg of this game 1-0 against all odds and now have the much envied position of being able to sit back and watch their opponents struggle at high altitude in a game that their opponents simply have to win – no exceptions. Internacional will have to take the game to them in Quito – many sides have tried and failed to do this. I’d take a home win at whatever odds you can find them at because I can’t see another outcome here!

Mika Yerevan vs Helsingborgs – both sides to score. Much like in the first leg, I expect both sides to score here. Helsingborgs are a bit of a hit-and-miss side on the road in any competition and tend to concede. Mika Yerevan aren’t good enough to win the game but I expect them to score and most probably lose the game. Helsingborgs will sit back and hit them on the counter and I expect some joy to occur from this too. A probably scoreline is 1-2 but take both sides to score at whatever odds you can get them at.
Rudar Velenje vs Trans Narva – home win with -1.75 goal handicap. I don’t rate Rudar Velenje that highly, but I think the gulf in class between the Slovenian Prva Liga and the Estonian Meistriliiga is absolutely massive and I can’t see anything other than a whitewash here. Rudar Velenje managed to win comfortably in Narva in the first leg, which is generally considered a tough venue by local opponents, so I can’t see anything else occurring here but a convincing home win as Trans Narva have to come and play football to have a chance of progression.
Llanelli vs Motherwell – away win. After an extremely surprising defeat in Scotland, Motherwell are going to have to pick themselves up rapidly to have a chance of reaching the next stage. Hopefully the bookies read a lot into Llanelli’s surprising victory in Scotland so we can capitalise on an away win, which I do expect to occur. The Scots need an early goal to unlock the Welsh defence but if they do, they’re good enough to finish the job. I was surprised at the first leg result; I don’t think I’ll be surprised by the second leg result because Motherwell really are too good for Llanelli, with the proviso they show up, of course!
