Both of these sides have mid-week commitments in the Japanese Cup but what sways me towards an away win here is that Albirex Niigata have a slightly better squad and are very good on the road. Generally, if both squads were full then I’d contemplate a draw in this game but given that both sides will be most likely fielding weaker squads, particularly the hosts as their league campaign is all but finished with, I do fancy an away win here and the odds are certainly looking seductive for it…
Olimpija vs Interblock Ljubljana – away win. Interblock Ljubljana endured a torrid season in the Prva Liga last season. They were dubbed as title challengers etc. and fell flat on their faces despite a couple of impressive spells in the season. This season, however, they’re back with a vengeance and travelling to newly-promoted Olimpija, a side that really aren’t good enough to contain the visitors. For that reason, I fancy a comfortable away win here.
FC Trollhattan vs Atvidabergs – away win. High-flying Atvidabergs have a good record on the road and lowly Trollhattan are far from consistent in the home points they have accumulated this season. Whereas I would approach this game with a degree of caution, an away win looks likely and ultimately profitable.
Obolon Kiev vs Metalist Kharkiv – away win. The visitors travel to newly-promoted Obolon Kiev with a relatively full squad from last season and shouldn’t have any great trouble disposing of the hosts today by a good goal or two. What else can I say? Obolon Kiev simply aren’t good enough to contain Metalist Kharkiv.
