Today’s secondary featured game is the Allsvenskan game between Orebro and BK Hacken Goteborg.

Orebro have begun something of a resurgence under new boss Ljung. They may have been fortunate to beat GAIS Goteborg on the road but they were good against Malmo in their 2-1 and either way they now enter this game on the back of two straight wins. I’ve said all along that Orebro are not in a league placing that shows their capabilities but that they’re down in the relegation battle because of their shoddy defence. The fact is that they’ve still never replaced Almeback after all this time and it means that any Allsvenskan side (perhaps barring the bloody awful Gefle) can score against them. Still, Ljung recognises that Orebro’s strength is attacking and scoring goals, which is precisely what they’ve done in their last two games, so perhaps he’s the one to lead them to safety. Rama is showing his potential again and with youngster Atashkadeh playing well, you have to feel that there are goals in this Orebro side. It’s a shame about Paulinho not working out but they’ve got Haddad to fall back upon (if he ever fully returns) and Daniel Bamberg in midfield is good at unlocking defences. Orebro are not a great side but with the wind in their sails, their attacking players are scoring goals and I wouldn’t bet against them at the Behrn whilst they’re playing with confidence.

In some ways, they’ve got the ideal opponents in freefalling Hacken too. Hacken are a great goalscoring side but there’s no spine/backbone to this team at all so any kind of bad run sees players not playing well and/or wanting to leave usually. Since they’ve come back, Hacken have scored in both Allsvenskan games but they’ve also lost both of them due to being tactically inept. They can break almost any Allsvenskan side down when it suits them but they’re so weak at the back. AIK beat them because they attacked them from the word “go” and scored two with Hacken left floundering in the dust. GIF Sundsvall beat them by sitting back and counter-attacking them, which also worked rather well. Hacken can always score goals with Makondele and Waris in their team but they can’t keep clean sheets and their morale is dropping like a stone. Gerhardsson’s team are in for a very tough few weeks now until they turn this around. Despite them being better than Orebro, you have to feel that they’ll struggle on the artificial turf in Orebro today and with everything else stacking against them, I have to admit that taking Orebro to win this game did cross my mind.

However, I must prefer to take over 2.5 goals at 4/5. I can’t see the game ending without both sides scoring, which already makes it 1-1 in my head. Beyond that, I think there’s enough desire and momentum from Orebro for them to score again and there’s enough firepower from Hacken for them to score again. I’d not really enter the 1×2 market unless watching the game but taking over 2.5 goals looks good to me at 4/5.

Verdict: Over 2.5 goals at 4/5. Why not bet on this game now at William Hill?
