Howdy guys and girls!

Massive apologies for the downtime yesterday. In all honesty, I have no idea what caused it other than that the server guys fucked us over for some 12 hours. Hopefully it won’t be happening again in the near future.

Sadly, the knock-on effect is that I have no time to write much. Subsequently, all of my previews are very short today and team news will be updated later in the morning. Apologies for any inconvenience!

Featured game

Brann Bergen vs Haugesund – home win at evens.

This one is a particular favourite of mine today. Brann have been immense lately, scoring goals for fun. The return of Husklepp made them even better in attack last match and I expect that to continue here. They should have far too much firepower for Haugesund to handle although be wary of the fact that Brann almost certainly will concede at some stage in this game as they cannot defend. There’s value in taking Brann to win at evens though.

Additional games

Mechelen vs Club Brugge – over 2.5 goals at 9/10.

Mechelen are a good home side and Club Brugge are a bit dejected following their European exit mid-week, which they didn’t deserve. They were robbed, to be frank, but they were also the reason that they failed with two hideous errors leading to both Copenhagen goals. Club Brugge are still a top attacking side for me and will score here but will most likely concede against a Mechelen side that often scores at home. I think we’ll see over 2.5 goals here.

TB Tvoroyri vs B36 Torshavn – under 2.5 goals at 6/5.

Ever since Faero returned from his studies in Scotland, B36’s defence has been immense. It’s not a coincidence; he’s their best defender by a mile. It’s no surprise that he’s been called into the Faroese national team either. He ensures that little gets through their back four and a TB side with little to boast in attack shouldn’t cause many problems. B36’s hosts are very dogged and hard to beat, though. I find some value in B36 winning the game but nowhere near as much as I see in under 2.5 goals, which should be a given with the above in mind.

JJK Jyvaskyla vs MyPa Anjalankoski – home win at evens.

These odds are just…wrong. JJK are so much better than MyPa that it’s frightening. MyPa are more consistent than JJK, admittedly, but JJK possess some of the best attacking players in the Veikkausliiga and really should win this one without Europe to distract them now. MyPa are in a bit of a lull and although they’ll probably easily score against JJK’s joke of a defence, I fancy the home win at evens as JJK should have too much firepower here.

Roda JC Kerkrade vs Zwolle – home win with -1 Asian Handicap at 9/10.

Eh, not much more to say than there’s a big quality gap here. Zwolle are most likely heading back down whilst most of Roda’s squad from last season have remained at the club. They formidable at home last season with Malki up front, who has intriguingly stayed at the club. They score goals for fun and although they can concede, this tip really shouldn’t lose.

Heracles Almelo vs VVV Venlo – over 3 goals at 9/10.

It can be hard to call goals in the early games of the season but if there are any then they will be here. Heracles always do well on their artificial turf and VVV have no fear. Both sides concede goals too easily but both sides score more than most people expect them to. It may be one to keep an eye on in-play at first but there really should be goals here.

Zenit St.Petersburg vs Spartak Moscow – over 2.5 goals at evens.

Zenit’s performances of late haven’t been great whereas Spartak’s have. Their investments are finally paying off and their goalscoring ratio has shot up as a result. Zenit are not as immortal as they used to be and may struggle here despite the game being played at their Petrovsky fortress. Both sides have plenty of firepower and I think we could be in for an interesting game here. For me, the value is in over 2.5 goals at evens.

Lokomotiv Moscow vs Alaniya Vladikavkaz – over 2.5 goals at 9/10.

Bilic’s Lokomotiv side have looked good for the most part. They’ve attacked with conviction and scored goals in their wider game. There’s more quality in their ranks and they have powerful target men in Caicedo and N’Doye. There are plenty of options for Loko here and they should win the game. Defensively, they are still very suspect, though, and may get caught out by their tricky opponents. I fancy over 2.5 goals at 9/10 where it’s through Loko annihlating Alaniya or via the visitors producing another scintillating display following their heroics against Terek.

Syrianska Sodertalje vs Atvidaberg – away win with draw no bet at 5/6.

I like this one an awful lot, gents. Syrianska are bloody awful right now and Atvidaberg are going from strength to strength. The visitors score goals for fun and attack with belief whilst their hosts struggle to keep anyone out and struggle to create chances. If Atvidaberg perform here as they have in recent weeks then they’ll win this game very easily. For me, there’s potentially huge value in the away win with draw no bet cover at 5/6, even with Atvidabergs’ inability to defend taken into account.
