Colo Colo vs Santos – over 2.5 goals at 4/5.
Today’s featured game is the Copa Libertadores encounter between Colo Colo and Santos in Chile.
Since appointing Americo Gallego as manager, Colo Colo have looked good again, scoring goals at will. Defending has never been their strongpoint but the players believe in themselves and possess some talented footballers, hence goals usually coming their way. Both of their Copa Libertadores games so far have easily cleared 2.5 goals with each game containing a minimum of six goals and with eleven goals bagged in four games in all competitions, Colo Colo look likely to go over 2.5 goals here too.
Santos possess an excellent attacking line, to be frank. There’s the outstanding Neymar in their ranks, who recently dominated the Copa Sudamericano U20 tournament in Peru – he’s a nightmare to handle. In addition to him, there’s also Keirrison, Ganso, Elano, and Ze Eduardo contributing to this excellent team so Santos generally find the net on a regular basis. Their defending is questionable at times but then again, so is Colo Colo’s. Both of Santos’ games have gone under 2.5 goals so far with a 0-0 draw in Venezuela against Deportivo Tachira leading them into a baffling 1-1 draw at home to Cerro Porteno in a game which could have and should have had a lot more goals in it.
However, with Chile being notorious for its tenacious sides, Santos will have to be vigilant in this game or they’ll struggle. Both sides play attractive attacking football and neither has the capability to hold a lead with any kind of composure so you have to expect goals here. Both sides could do with the points in this game and to be honest, either side can win this game although I’m edging toward Colo Colo winning this game. However, there should be goals here as long as Colo Colo don’t do the usual Chilean trick of having a man dismissed and succumbing to a narrow defeat without scoring. Either way, over 2.5 goals appears generously priced at 4/5 with the above in mind so that’s my call here.
Verdict: Over 2.5 goals at 4/5.
