Today’s secondary featured game is the Soproni Liga game between Ujpest and Fehervar.
Although easily the bigger of the two clubs by reputation and because of their history, Ujpest are gradually falling further and further behind Fehervar. The quality simply isn’t in this Ujpest side any longer. The only game that they seem bothered about nowadays is their fierce derby with Ferencvaros! You look at their squad and you struggle to name the stars, don’t you? I mean, Krisztian Simon will always be a threat and Peter Kabat has been around long enough to know where the goal is but we’re scraping the barrel here. Ujpest won’t lie down and die in any game but they either tend to be too complacent or not motivated enough to do well. I don’t see the firepower in their ranks nor the leadership required to change that around for today’s game either.
Visitors Fehervar may have their eyes fixed firmly on the trip to Belgum next week for their UEFA Europa League game with AA Gent but they’ve got a big squad and can rotate players if required. Paulo Sousa is a good manager and he’s taught his side to control possession and play a very patient game. Fehervar never seem to doubt themselves; they know that they’ll score ultimately, whether it’s at the start or at the death. There are some very good players in this side and if Fehervar were more clinical in front of goal then I’d not hesitate as labelling them the best side in Hungary. As it happens, I believe that particular mantle still belongs to Debreceni VSC but Fehervar are still a very strong and dependable unit. Fehervar will sit on any lead that they have so with the proviso that they dictate which way this game goes, I can only see this one going under 2.5 goals.
Unless Ujpest produce one of their rare inspired displays then I can’t see Fehervar struggling too much here. Nine out of the last eleven meetings between these two sides have gone under 2.5 goals and I can’t help but feel that the same will happen here.
Verdict: Under 2.5 goals at evens. Why not bet on this game now at William Hill?
