Uruguay Stands Still
Free…but we continue!
Yes, the news that the Uruguayan Primera Division will be indefinitely suspended came out of the blue. Uruguay has had its problems before, it’s true, but that was some time ago now. However, a riot broke out recently in a game between rivals Danubio and Nacional de Montevideo. Danubio had won the game 1-0 before the fans invaded the pitch. It took a considerable amount of time for the riot to be quelled and AUF President Jose Luis Corbo has stated there will be no further games until they resolve security issues in the country in regards to football.
I find such information interesting. That’s the handicap of being a football maniac, I’m afraid – you will have to suffer such rants in future.
