Valencia CF vs Real Madrid
FreeWhat an encounter in prospect tonight! Both of these sides enter this match on the back of absolute whippings from their previous opponents. Real Madrid were destroyed in sadistic fashion by a rampant Barcelona, as well as their own inept defence, the final scoreline being 2-6 despite the game being played at the Santiago Bernabeu. Valencia took a beating off relegation-strugglers Espanyol. For me, that’s not such a great surprise as although Valencia have been excellent lately, they’re also very prone to losing games in a ridiculous fashion i.e. the start of their season. This particular game at the Mestalla only really holds any significant value for Valencia because Real Madrid aren’t going to win the league and they’re not going to slip to third place either. Valencia, by contrast, are only one point clear of both Atletico Madrid and Villarreal, as well as only being three points clear of Deportivo La Coruna, so they very much need the three points, even if their current placing leaves them in the Champions League Qualifiers Stage.
The head-to-head encounters between these two sides doesn’t reveal much, as usual between big sides. One thing seems relatively certain though, and that is that there will be plenty of goals. One of the safer bets is to go over 2.5 goals on this game, or perhaps over 3.5 goals if you feel lucky! For me, I think Real Madrid’s defeat will have hurt them more than Valencia’s and I think they’ll suffer tonight. My personal favourite bet is to back Valencia to win, draw no bet, with over 2.5 goals.

There are two 5-team accumulators that catch my eye today in terms of value and likelihood. They’re both listed below in orders I prefer, although of course feel free to mix and match:

Hertha BSC Berlin, Debrecen, Maccabi Netanya, Hercules Alicante, Basel – 14/1 should be the odds on this!
Another bet that catches my eye is a 5-team accumulator in the Estonian Meistriliiga today. This includes Sillamae Kalev, Flora Tallinn, Levadia Tallinn, Viljandi Tulevik and Nomme Kalju. The odds are about 5/1 on this, which isn’t great, but there’s a very good chance of it happening.
