Anderlecht vs Standard de Liege

 Although not a game I’ll be betting on myself today, today’s undisputed game of the day involves two heavyweight Belgian sides in Anderlecht and Standard de Liege. The two sides have finished on level points at the end of this season’s Eerste Divisie campaign so they now have a 2-leg play-off against each other. This bodes somewhat ill for Anderlecht, as it’s rare they get the better of Standard de Liege, with the exception of their win against their rivals earlier this season. I respect the way Bologni prepares his side for big games, which tends to be why Standard de Liege emerge victorious. However, this isn’t a league game; a simple away goal will be enough. Anderlecht will be desperate to obtain the Eerste Divisie crown, something that was taken from them last year by Standard de Liege. Unfortunately, I do believe the visitors are better than Anderlecht, too much so for it to be ignored. I can see a 1-1 draw here in a fierce encounter before Standard de Liege finish the job in the return leg.

There’s an awful lot of good Scandinavian games today. My favourite bet of the day is a 4-team accumulator containing AC Oulu, Nybergsund, IFK Goteborg, and Jonkopings Sodra – you should be able to get this at 9/1 or 10/1.
