FreeThe weekend has been a little bizarre! Saturday was somewhat dumbfounding in places with some dead certs falling early whereby Sunday was considerably more predictable and thus financially pleasing! I was happy to see Manchester United despatch Derby County from the FA Cup with considerable ease although that was marred slightly in my eyes by Athletic Club de Bilbao drawing at home to lowly Recreativo de Huelva.
In other news, it’s good for me to see the Austrian Bundesliga resuming this week as it’s yet more options from a betting perspective!
However, the main news of the weekend has to be David Beckham’s collapsed move to AC Milan from Los Angeles Galaxy. I say “collapsed” – I’m still hoping it’ll go through. I have tremendous respect for Beckham and for AC Milan and I think the two would walk hand-in-hand for many years. AC Milan is a massive club worldwide and arguably the club that produces the most loyal footballers. David Beckham is one of the most loyal footballers around – he’ll play wherever for whatever manager and always give his all. It’s like a perfect match – but it seems the Los Angeles Galaxy board are greedy fuckers who think in excess of 10 million pounds is an acceptable amount for a +33 year old footballer have decided it’s in their best interests to keep him at the club. It’s a shame, eh? Fingers crossed it does go through ultimately – just imagine a line-up containing Ronaldinho, Kaka, Pato, Inzaghi, Beckham and Pirlo – and that’s only whilst Gattuso is out injured!! Frightening or what?
