Launch

Ok guys, we’re finally in a good position to launch the new project, which will begin in the members section tomorrow. Our intention is to help people beat the bookies by at least having the necessary team news to bet on leagues that they normally wouldn’t be able to find it on. The countries we can currently offer team news on each game for are Hungary, Serbia, Scotland, Bulgaria, Turkey, Lithuania, Germany, Belgium, Italy, Portugal, Moldova, Poland, Norway, Romania, Brazil, Finland, Estonia, Macedonia, Sweden, Croatia, Netherlands, Greece, Republic of Ireland, Russia, and Mexico although Mexico will be available from next week onwards. If you want access to the above team news then become a member.

Today’s secondary featured game is the Belarusian Vysshaya Liga game between giants Dinamo Minsk and atypical relegation battlers Torpedo Zhodino. There has been light years between these two sides for some time but this year is a little different.

True enough, Dinamo Minsk are still the bigger side with the more decorated history and better players and Torpedo Zhodino are still the unfashionable and gritty underdogs. However, Dinamo Minsk have struggled to get to grips with all their new players this season until lately and they’ve conceded a lot of goals as a result. Belarus U21’s participation in the UEFA European U21 Championships in Denmark appears to have galvanised a lot of Dinamo Minsk’s youthful squad and they now play free-flowing attacking football and look all the better for it, even to the point where they’re not missing a target man, which tells you they’re playing well! Rafael Ledesma is doing well in front of goal, to be fair, and with support from the likes of Dragun, Bychenok, and Afanasiev whilst Perepechko sits deep, Dinamo Minsk look more positive and dangerous as a whole. Veretilo and Politevich are forging a strong partnership at the back and they could improve defensively long-term if they keep them together.

Dinamo Minsk are the better team here so why over 2.5 goals? Surely it should be a narrow home win? Perhaps, but there is one other factor to consider; Gurenko. He was in charge of Dinamo Minsk for a large portion of last year and he knows his old side well, albeit the few players that still remain! He’ll want to win this one badly and Torpedo Zhodino are annoying enough to cause an upset, in my opinion. Gurenko has made them play with even more spirit and endeavour this season and they’ve reaped the benefits of it, having already won at Naftan Novopolotsk, Dinamo Brest, and at home against Dinamo Minsk earlier this season. There’s plenty of experience in this team and although their depth is rather limited, they’re not short on tenacity and I think they’ll give Dinamo Minsk a rough ride here, irrespective of the outcome.

You can put this one down to the way I view the styles of both teams rather than statistics as statistics don’t really support this bet, to be honest. I just feel that the way the two sides play football and the motivation at hand will make this game go over 2.5 goals and that’s my call here.

Verdict: Over 2.5 goals at 9/10.

Friday’s Picks

My tips:

As ever, below are my recommended value tips for today in no particular order:

Dukla Prague vs Ceske Budejovice – home win at 6/5.

This is another one that statistics can’t really back up but big Dukla Prague being back in the Gambrinus Liga makes their first home win somewhat inevitable at somepoint and why not against Ceske Budejovice? The visitors have been living on borrowed time and stout defending in this division for a long time now and it may just be that this season is their last because they have done nothing to impress me pre-season and I don’t see talent in their team. They lost 3-1 here in a pre-season friendly and although the same scoreline would surprise me, I still think a home win is possible here. The home side are very highly-motivated and well supported by their loyal fans whereas the visitors are dour, defensive, and uninteresting. It may well be that we see a stalemate here but I doubt it – Dukla Prague want this win a lot more than their opponents, in my view, and I think the home win is well worth a flutter at 6/5.

Verdict: Dukla Prague to win at 6/5.

Accumulator fodder:

Bv09 Borussia Dortmund, Anderlecht.

Recommended bets:

Dukla Prague and Bv09 Borussia Dortmund at below 2/1.
