Today’s secondary featured game is the Eerste Klasse game between Genk and Anderlecht.
Although Anderlecht are the superior of the two sides, it’s Genk who are more consistent at the moment and it’s Genk that are looking better going forward. The absence of Mbokani today for Anderlecht won’t improve Anderlecht’s chances of being the better attacking side here, either.
Don’t get me wrong here – Anderlecht still have a vast array of attacking talent with Suarez, Biglia, and Jovanovic in their ranks, just to name a few. They’re more than capable of scoring a few goals against any side in Belgium and Genk are no exception to that rule.
Anderlecht’s high defensive line leaves them very prone to pacey attacking sides and that’s exactly what Genk are. Genk are playing with great belief and momentum right now following some excellent results of late whilst scoring goals for fun. Genk are missnig a few regulars in Camus and Hyland in midfield but they’ve got plenty of depth in attack so I’m not concerned, especially whilst De Bruyne and Vossen are on the field. Similarly, Mbokani’s absence for Anderlecht won’t bother me as long as their Argentinian duo show up.
Neither side is capable of defending convincingly and both sides are attacking sides. Genk won 1-3 in Brussels a few weeks ago; maybe it’s time for Anderlecht’s revenge? I wouldn’t touch the 1×2 market but over 2.5 goals looks very generously priced at 5/6.
Verdict: Over 2.5 goals at 5/6.
