Ok guys, thanks very much for the support with the Bet365 link and banner clicking – it’s really good of you all! If you could please continue to do this whenever you remember then it’d be greatly appreciated, especially if placing bets at that time. Thank you!

Today’s secondary featured game is the Danish Division 1 game between Esbjerg and Vejle-Kolding.

Hosts Esbjerg were relegated to this division after a poor year in the Superligaen but there’s simply no denying that they’re one of the two best sides in the division along with Randers. Players like goalkeeper Hradecky, midfielder Smarason, and Lange are Superligaen players, by rights. If Esbjerg continue playing as well as they are, though, they’ll soon be a Superligaen side again because when a side with a lot of quality puts the effort in too, there’s generally very little any other side can do.

It’s unrelated but I actually rate Randers as the better side between Esbjerg and themselves, despite the statistics in the Division 1 league table suggesting otherwise. I guess only time will tell as to whether that’s true or not though!

The point is that Esbjerg are a very solid unit with plenty of firepower. It took them a couple of games to get used to the physical way that this league is played but now that they have, they’re destroying sides all around them, including a recent 0-4 win at a very potent Skive. I mean, seriously – their first three away games this season were at Vestjaelland, AB Copenhagen, and Skive – three of the more dangerous home sides in this league – and Esbjerg have won twice and lost the other in an epic game with plenty of goals. Esbjerg have already won five out of six games this season due to scoring a lot of goals and the same wouldn’t surprise me today.

Visitors Vejle-Kolding are not a side to underestimate, however. They’ve galvanised well since the merger of the two clubs and they now have a stealthily able side. They’re yet to emerge as a dangerous attacking side but their defence is strong. I’d be surprised to see them lose many this season but whether they score enough to win enough to challenge Randers and Esbjerg is another matter entirely. Vejle-Kolding will become a force in due course but this game looks too early in the season for that to be applicable here, in my view. They’ll be stubborn and hard-working but Esbjerg have more firepower, to be blunt.

This is the kind of game that could explode into life or be a slow affair that Esbjerg win by a goal or two. I’d lean more toward the latter as it’s a bit early in the season for it to explode into life but in the Danish 1st Division, I’d never rule out goals. However, the home win at 9/10 looks good value to me – they ultimately should have too much for their opponents, especially given their strong momentum lately.

Verdict: Esbjerg to win at 9/10.
