Today’s secondary featured game is the Ekstraklasa game between Gornik Zabrze and Lech Poznan.
One point from a possible twelve so far this season tells you where the hosts are at today. They’re a rather youthful and determined side but when it comes to quality, Gornik Zabrze tend to struggle, hence their predicament. They’ve lessened in attacking ability pre-season too with the departure of attacker Jez and ex-Bayern Munich hitman Sikorski. The hosts are still a hard-working and resolute team but as a goalscoring side, a dangerous side, or even a consistent side, they tend to struggle. They’ve made a nuisance of themselves so far this season where possible but were still ripped apart by Legia Warsaw in a 3-1 loss as the quality gap truly showd and that’s what I expect here today from their opponents Lech Poznan.
Lech have been playing very well so far this season although it cannot be denied that they’ve also had luck too. For instance, although they deserved the win at Belchatow lately, 0-3 was a flattering scoreline as they simply took their chances and the hosts didn’t show up. Naturally, Lech’s form has coincided with Rudnevs’ form because he’s the best striker in Poland by a long way, in my opinion. He’s a very gifted finisher and Ekstraklasa clubs are yet to find a way to contain him. His presence allows for the like of Krivets, Stilic, and Tonev to move freely behind, hence Lech doing so well. Basically, when Rudnevs does well, Lech are lethal. We all know that they’re the better side here as it is and even without key defender Arboleda and and regular Wojtkowkiak, you still have to fancy in-form Lech to outscore their inferior hosts today.
For me, there’s value on the away win at 11/10. A trip to Zabrze is never easy but Lech have more than enough firepower to make it count and no European games to distract them.
Verdict: Lech Poznan to win at 11/10.

Gyori ETO FC vs Zalaegerszegi TE – under 2.5 goals at 11/10.
Having seen how bad Zalaegerszegi TE have been at times this season, I’d normally not even question Gyori ETO FC when it comes to winning this game and they still really should win, although I’m not sure they merit such short odds when team news is taken into consideration. Gyori ETO FC like to dominate possession, create a lot of a chances, spurn most of them, but generally do enough to win games. Zalaegerszegi TE appear to have changed tactics since the departure of pretty much all their good attacking players because they were conceding too many goals without responding. They’re still short in attack and weak in defence, however. Gyori ETO FC should really win this one but my concerns stem from talented attacking duo Simon and Dudas, as they’re both absent today. The hosts still have good enough players to find a way through but for this game to clear 2.5 goals, we’d have to see a fairly unusual encounter today. Interestingly enough, the last five games between these two sides have gone under 2.5 goals and with the above in mind, I think there’s a good chance we’ll see the same again today.
Verdict: Under 2.5 goals at 11/10.
