Naftan Novopolotsk vs Dinamo Brest

Free

Today’s featured game is in the Vysshaya Liga between Naftan Novopolotsk and Dinamo Brest. As you loyal viewers can probably tell, I’m a big advocate of backing Naftan Novopolotsk at home because they really make it a fortress! Today’s potential home win is extra good because they’re entertaining a very good Dinamo Brest side that the bookies tend to favour often thus meaning we get better odds! Despite their good squad, Dinamo Brest have suffered of late with two draws and a defeat being all they have to show from their past three games. Naftan Novopolotsk, however, enter this game on the back of two straight wins and with the knowledge that they’ve won four home games from five this season. Admittedly, caution must be used here because Naftan Novopolotsk entertain AA Gent of Belgium five days from today. However, I feel it’s a sufficient length of time for the Naftan Novopolotsk squad to recover in so a full squad should be deployed. All the signs here point to a home win and the odds should be rather good!

My tips:

FC Gomel vs BATE Borisov – away win. What kind of introduction do I need to give you for BATE Borisov? They’re simply the best side in Belarus and show it 95% of the time. I can’t envision today’s game being any different. FC Gomel are no walkovers so I wouldn’t take an away win with a handicap but an away win should almost definitely be on the cards here.

Naftan Novotpolotsk vs Dinamo Brest – home win – see introduction for full details.

Torpedo Zhodino vs Neman Grodno – to win to nil. The hosts are having a very good season thus far although they have struggled in their last few games. That said, they entertain Neman Grodno, a side that can’t fully explain an away goal, let alone an away win! They’ve managed just two goals on the road this season in their one win and three defeats so that should spell out to you the atmosphere on the team bus! It’s difficult to judge Torpedo Zhodino’s home form due to their peculiar circumstances currently but they’re good enough to win this game with some ease.

Trans Narva vs Sillamae Kalev – away win, draw no bet. Both of these sides should be able to match each other on their respective days. Both sides are flying high in the Meistriliiga with both of them being unbeaten in their past five games. Sillamae Kalev actually enter the game on the back of five straight wins; Trans Narva have won four and drawn one of their past five games. However, what has made up my mind for this game is that Trans Narva had a very testing trip to Rudar Velenje lately and should be all rights be pretty damn tired. I expect Sillamae Kalev to take full advantage of that and win the game here today with potential draw no bet depending on your confidence.

Inter Turku vs IFK Mariehamn – away win, draw no bet. This is probably my riskiest call of the day but I’m feeling confident about it. IFK Mariehamn have played very well this season, much better than you’d have thought them capable of if you judge them on last season. However, changes over the summer have brought them good and efficient results and today they travel to an Inter Turku side that is anything but efficient currently. The hosts are busy preparing for their game in a few days time at home to Sheriff Tiraspol in the UEFA European Champions League and will no doubt have a great deal of their focus on it because their Veikkausliiga campaign is all but over due to recent poor form and the relentless consistency of HJK Helsinki and Haka Valkeakoski. For those reasons, I feel an away win is a very realistic possibility. However, do approach with caution as IFK Mariehamn struggle to win away from home, even if they avoid defeat often – they just tend to draw. They score and concede very few goals on the road so keep your fingers crossed that they get the first goal against what should be Inter Turku’s second string.

Sligo Rovers vs Cork City  – away win. The hosts have just arrived back from Albania after their European exploits and entertain a Cork City side that are fighting to get back into form and set their title challenge mode onto “realistic” once again. Fortunately for Cork City, they’re not only very good on the road but facing a tired side, if it is even the first side that is played. Given that Sligo Rovers haven’t won in their last four league games and that Cork City enter this game on the back of a win as well as possessing an away record of five wins from nine games (only two defeats), you have to favour an away win here!

Albirex Niigata vs Kawasaki Frontale – home win. Both of these sides are in fantastic form at the moment with both sides possessing a record of four wins from five games. Interestingly, the hosts tend to be better on the road and the visitors tend to be better at home so we have a kind of mismatch here! However, what has thrown me is the head-to-head encounters here. In this fixture, the home side has won it the last ten times it has been played! If that’s not an all-conquering statistic, I don’t know what is! Home win ahoy!

Staebek vs Viking Stavanger – home win. This can be quite a difficult game to call, particularly as some of you will be sat there stroking your beards at Staebek’s inability to emerge victorious from their recent trip to Lyn Oslo. However, the hosts played well and deserved their point. At home, Staebek are truly lords of the manor, even against sleeping giants Viking Stavanger. Despite the draw, Staebek have won three from their last five games. Interestingly, Viking Stavanger haven’t lost in their last five games despite some near misses! However, today only has a home win written on it as Staebek seek to climb the table and cling onto their title crown. The hosts are very good at home, which has been their trademark these past two seasons, really – good odds on the horizon too!

Terek Grozny vs CSKA Moscow – away win. After a brief break, juggernauts CSKA Moscow return to action with a trip to Terek Grozny. The hosts will have been disappointed to have had that break, given that they have won two and drawn once in their three games leading up to it, leaving them climbing away from the drop zone. They’ll regret it more when they see the statistics that show CSKA Moscow as the most dangerous side on the road in the division with four wins from seven. They take on a Terek Grozny side that is typically strong at home but a side that shouldn’t really be a match for them on the day with the quality at their disposal.
