FreeToday’s featured game is the UEFA Europa League Qualifier in Andorra between Sant Julia and MyPa Anjalankoski. The Finnish side won the first leg 3-0 at home but it could and should have been more. Andorran football may be on the rise but I think this is a bridge too far for the hosts today.
Sant Julia are simply inferior to MyPa; fact. Sant Julia have to attack and whereas I’d expect them to have some joy against a droll and horrible MyPa side normally, the fact is that MyPa are finally playing well again. Well, they’re playing well enough to score goals, at least! They’re scoring masses of goals at the moment both at home and away so I expect them to do so again today, basically. I wouldn’t try a bigger handicap than -1.75 because the hosts are improving, as I’ve mentioned. However, the usually unreliable MyPa are scoring a lot of goals at the moment and really should finish off this tie in style. Either way, the -1.75 handicap against Andorran opposition is always worthy of consideration, particularly when the odds are at a baffling price of evens, so I can only endorse the away win with a -1.75 goal handicap today at a good price.

I know a lot of you usually refer to the UEFA Europa League as a minefield and you’d normally be right although I tend to find value in it as I did last week. However, I’m warning you all now – today’s games are absolute nightmares barring the few I’ve selected so be very careful indeed when betting today!!
Karpaty Lviv vs KR Reykjavik – under 2.5 goals at 6/5.
The first leg of this game in Iceland finished 3-0 to the Ukrainian visitors. I can’t help but feel that the result was a little flattering; Karpaty don’t score that many goals and KR play well in Europe so I’m not looking into this too much, especially as Karpaty don’t score many goals as a rule anyway. Karpaty are good at home though and really should finish off the job today. However, I expect a more rigid display from the Icelandic side today to keep the scoreline respectable and I don’t think the Ukrainian hosts will be overly concerned about increasing the deficit, most likely preferring the adapt themselves tactically to the demands of European football, something that they’ve not widely accustomed to yet. Therefore, I think going under 2.5 goals on this game may be a good bet today at generous odds of 6/5.
Verdict: Under 2.5 goals at 6/5.
Bangor City vs FC Honka Espoo – away win at 4/5.
The fun’s over now; it’s time Honka showed their true colours. They’ve been horribly unpredictable thus far in the Veikkausliiga and their home draw with Bangor is something that I cannot describe in any other way than “bizarre”. Finnish teams are not ready for European football yet but they’re still some distance ahead of the Welsh sides. I think there’s been too much of an overreaction to the draw in Finland because there’s no way Honka should be as long as 4/5 to win this game today. They’re a well-organised side and always have their potency at maximum efficiency. Honka won here last year with ease and I’d be surprised to see anything but that occurring again today, much as Bangor City have improved since last year. Honka really should have too much for them today and I’ll be beyond surprised if they fail to deliver the goods this time.
Verdict: FC Honka Espoo to win at 4/5.
