Not much interests me today. I can’t work out if I’m still fuming at Plzen’s inability to do anything in the final third of the pitch last night or whether there just isn’t any value today. VVV and Pecsi both look too long today, based on their recent displays. Stromsgodset look interesting but their usual home advantage is not present today.
The only two games that actually interest me are taking Villarreal CF with draw no bet cover and Shakhtar Donetsk with draw no bet cover. Bilbao haven’t clicked under Bielsa yet and despite boasting an impressive attack, their samba 3-4-3/3-5-2 formation doesn’t work in the Primera Liga yet with too many attackers being played in defence and they concede a lot of goals as a result. San Mames is not an easy place to play but the bigger clubs do tend to have a good record there and Villarreal tend to do well against Bilbao in general. I don’t see Villarreal losing that one, to be honest – I don’t think Bilbao can keep them out so it’ll be very hard for the home side to win, much as I’d like them to. Not playing Toquero is a mistake; Bilbao miss his inspirational displays. Bilbao just aren’t right yet and I think Villarreal can take advantage of that with pacey Rossi’s movement likely to cause a slow and unfamiliar Athletic defence a lot of problems. Shakhtar have a good chance to win at Kiev, in my view – they look stronger than every with innumerate quality midfielders and finishers in their team. Their hosts look slow and predictable, not to mention lacking in width and finishers. It’s a rivalry match so I wouldn’t take it without draw no bet but Shakhtar could and probably should nick this one.
Aside from the above, I just have no interest in today’s games so good luck if you take anything on as it looks a real minefield out there!
