Today’s secondary featured game is the Soproni Liga game between Siofok and Debreceni VSC.
On paper, Siofok’s home record is pretty good so far this season and it has to be, really – they’re going down without it. However, they’ve failed to score in two out of their four home games and have only beaten an Ujpest side that has since fired their manager and a very weak Kaposvari Rakoczi side so yeah, I’m not convinced. There’s not enough firepower nor ability in this team to concern me. There are only a handful of sides in the Soproni Liga capable of winning this game away from home, however, which is why Siofok rarely lose on their own turf. Most sides are of similar quality in this division but the heavyweights can win games like this with the proper application.
Do Debreceni VSC have that application? I definitely believe that they do. They’ve improved massively on last season and their results are showing it, too. They look far more able to create and score chances, especially with new strikers Zahovaiko and Coulibaly. Mbenono and Ramos have been excellent in midfield although their most promising prospect has to surely be young Bodi, who has already bagged four goals this season. Debreceni VSC are playing with a great deal of confidence and potency so you have to favour them here. Even reigning champions Fehervar found them in irresistable form a couple of weeks ago and I fancy them to make it eight consecutive Soproni Liga wins tonight with the above in mind.
Debreceni VSC’s form can’t carry on forever due to the laws of averages but 4/5 on them beating a side that they’re frankly a lot better than interests me an awful lot today.
Verdict: Debreceni VSC to win at 4/5.
