Today’s free tip is in the Faroese Meistaradeildin encounter between TB Tvoroyri and KI Klaksvik.
In a way, the speciality of both sides will be wasted here. TB Tvoroyri specialise in avoiding being beaten and KI Klaksvik specialise in counter-attacking so I expect both sides to nullify one another rather well today. Indeed, the last three times that these two sides have met at Sevmyri in the Meistaradeildin it’s ended 1-1 and a similar scoreline today is very likely, in my opinion.
TB Tvoroyri have lost two home games in the current campaign, which came against B36 Torshavn and NSI Runavik respectively, which is the current top two in the Faroe Islands. TB Tvoroyri are extremely hard to beat at the best of times but especially so when they’re playing at home. They know that draws will keep them clear of the relegation battle and European football simply isn’t possible so they’ve no reason for them to change their usual style. They’ve got a very athletic and capable attack, which allows them to play cautiously whilst still being a threat to their opponents, hence the difficulty of facing them. There’s plenty of experience and understanding in their defensive formation so I find it very difficult to envision them losing this match.
KI Klaksvik have better attackers than TB Tvoroyri but worse defenders. The trouble is that their attacking abilities tend to be overshadowed by their lack of ability in defence. They’ve only won once away from home this season, which was against relegation-threatened AB Argir. They even managed to throw away a 4-1 lead at rock-bottom EB/Streymur to draw 4-4! An attack containing Klettskard, Elttor, Heinesen, Klakstein, and Bjartalo will always be dangerous but with Klettskard having had a fairly quiet season (by his standards) and age catching up with quick Elttor, KI Klaksvik are a tad easier to stop than usual. They’ve not taken chances as well as they should lately and they’ve been conceding goals far too easily so I don’t rate their chances of unlocking the most stubborn defence in the Faroe Islands. Realistically speaking, KI Klaksvik aren’t going to make European football either so it’s hard to see their motivation piquing.
To me, there should be plenty of value in giving TB Tvoroyri a +0.5 handicap at evens.
Verdict: TB Tvoroyri to win with +0.5 handicap at evens.
