Featured game

Mexico vs Chile – over 2.5 goals at 11/10.

Today’s featured game is the friendly between Mexico and Chile in Barcelona.

I don’t know what to make of these friendlies, really. That might sound weird but I just don’t know if they’re fixed or not. I’m absolutely convinced the game between Chile and Spain in Switzerland was fixed for varying reasons and I’m wondering if this game will follow a similar route. Effectively, it looks to me like they’re trying to advertise the excellent football of hispanic nations for whatever reason and I think we’ll see that again in this game tonight.

I mean, we do have two notoriously strong attacking sides locking horns here. Don’t expect the likes of Sanchez and Hernandez to play more than forty-five minutes, if at all, but both sides have very promising youngsters coming through that will be keen to impress and let’s face it – they really are very good players coming through. From the Chile squad, you can expect to see the likes of Universidad de Chile winger Vargas, Sporting Clube de Lisboa attacker Rubio, playmaker Aranguiz etc. From the Mexico squad, you can expect to see midfielder Molina from America, Zavala from Monterrey, and most probably Moreno from Espanyol as this game is being played at Espanyol’s home ground.

I don’t see any point in either side sitting back and defending here, to be honest – neither side are any good at it. Both sides are good at attacking and I expect both to play attacking football. If I have to favour either side then it’d be Mexico as their squad looks more experienced than Chile’s. However, Chile’s midfield is dazzling when stroking a ball around so I’m not touching the 1×2 market here. However, I do believe that this yet another advert for hispanic football so I think we’ll see free-flowing football with plenty of goals and subsequently over 2.5 goals at 11/10 is very interesting here.

Verdict: Over 2.5 goals at 11/10.
