Today’s secondary featured game is the UEFA Europa League game in Israel between Hapoel Tel-Aviv and Lithuanian heavyweights Ekranas Panevezys. The scoreline was 1-0 in the reversal of this fixture and I expect another tight game between these two sides today.
I like Hapoel Tel-Aviv and their attacking style of football a lot but how they’re 1/5 to win this game I’ll never know. Ekranas are very experienced in Europe and are no mugs. They welcome back Dedura and Andelkovic to solidify their team and I doubt they’ll be broken through easily today.
Hapoel Tel-Aviv are more than good enough to eventually get through with Toto Tamuz up front and emerging Nigerian talent Igiebor to support him. However, they lost some big players pre-season – Badir, Vermouth, Zahavi, Shechter etc. all affect their attacking game. Hapoel Tel-Aviv really should win this one but I think they’re going to find it tough againt a frequently underestimated Ekranas side.
The visitors are good at nullifying opponents and keeping scorelines tight. Their firepower isn’t great on the European stage but they’re good enough to cause a slight upset here if they play to their full potential.
However, I really wouldn’t enter the 1×2 market here – there’s just too many variants here. Under 3 goals really appeals to me, though – there’s not much firepower on show and even if Ekranas lose then I doubt it’ll be a cricket scoreline so under 3 goals at 4/5 is very appealing today.
Verdict: Under 3 goals at 4/5.
