Today’s secondary featured game is the Turku derby in the Veikkausliiga between TPS and Inter. Bear in mind that these two share a stadium so there’s no home advantage here at all, just in case you were struggling to understand the odds.
Quality-wise, there’s not vast amounts between these two sides, in my humble opinion. Inter Turku rely heavily upon Furuholm to have any kind of attacking power and TPS Turku rely heavily on their three frontmen to produce anything at all.
However, given the immense firepower of both sides in recent times, I have to favour the over 2.5 goals approach here. Traditionally, the Turku derby has a bit of a reputation for being somewhat stagnant but the last three derbies between these two have cleared 2.5 goals and I think this one can too.
TPS Turku aren’t far away from being as united as they need to be to become a force in the Veikkausliiga again and Inter have their talismanic striker Furuholm in top form so we appear set for a good game here. I wouldn’t rule out Inter winning this one, however – Dragtsma is one of the best managers in the country, in my view, and if anyone can steer them to victory today then it’s him. I still find TPS Turku a shade wasteful in front of goal and a little vulnerable at the back and Inter can take advantage of that, although it’s worth noting that Inter aren’t particularly secure at the back either!
My biggest fear here is that Inter revert to their usual under 2.5 goals selves, which is essentially what they are when Furuholm is absent/not playing well. That’s always a possibility with this team, sadly. However, over 2.5 goals appears just a shade generously price at 4/5 because with Kuqi, Aaritalo, and Tarvajarvi in their ranks, TPS Turku definitely have the capacity to score goals, even without the retired Johansson. There’s plenty of attacking ability on display today and I feel that taking over 2.5 goals at 4/5 is a decent price to take a chance on.
Verdict: Over 2.5 goals at 4/5.
