Today’s secondary featured game is the Eliteserien game in Drammen between Stromsgodset and Tromso.
The Marienlyst has long been a formidable stronghold for Stromsgodset and I’ve seen no signs of that changing this season. I mean, the away trips in Norway are hard as it is, especially on artificial turf like today’s game is. However, when you take on a side that is crammed full of belief, energy, and attacking power, you are in for a really tough game. Stromsgodset are very susceptible at the back, it’s true, but you have to either be prepared to score a lot of goals in Drammen or play the best tactical game you’ve ever played to be an away side and have a chance of getting a result here.
Of course, the advantage that Tromso have here that few other visiting sides in the Eliteserien have is that of the artificial turf at their own stadium up north so they won’t be complete strangers to it here. Indeed, Tromso usually give Stromsgodset a good game, especially at the Alfheim. However, they tend to be on the receiving end of a result at the Marienlyst each season and a similar outcome today would not surprise me given Stromsgodset’s form. That said, Tromso are more experienced than their hosts and they do have some good players. They’re looking better now that they’re gradually getting used to life without Rushfeldt and Abdellaoue up front and I think that they’ll at least score today.
Six out of the last seven meetings between these two sides have involved both sides scoring and I expect that to happen today too. A winner? I’d have to edge toward Stromsgodset but I’d encourage you to not bet on the final outcome of this game as a smart display from Tromso will see them avoid defeat here but an open game will see Stromsgodset flatten them. Either way, I think over 2.5 goals is worth a flutter at 4/5.
Verdict: Over 2.5 goals at 4/5.
