I Hate Platini!

Free

We now enter another bizarre period of time whereby countries play pointless International matches whilst some leagues continue regardless. We even have the added anomaly that an Ecuador XI is facing England U21! Dare I ask why?! What does this achieve?! Nothing, my friends!

I feel I should also point out (although I’m not sure why) that Cyrpus, Slovakia, Serbia and Ukraine are participating in a tournament in Cyprus. The winner perhaps gets a free drink at a local bar – who knows?! More to the point, who cares? The bounty of winning this prestigious event would no doubt be beyond earthly comprehension!

It’s always pleasant to see Michele Platini sticking his oar into English football as well. I noticed this little Hitler-esque mogul of all things French and shit decided that he wanted all English sides out of the Champions League because they’re in debt to their owners. Never mind that they provide the best entertainment, or even that they provide some of the world’s best footballers – if Platini wants them out, then out they’ll go, I’m sure! He’s such a meddling wanker, I mean honestly. I’ve never seen someone so biased towards French teams and so far up himself. It’s a shame because he literally was one of the best footballers of his generation and this pathetci onslaught of England, English football, English teams and just anything over the Channel is frankly demeaning his career as a footballer in the eyes of arguably the most passionate footballing nation in the world. If you remove English sides from Champions League, you have a massive problem. Regardless of the issues that currently face Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool, themselves combined with Manchester United provide the most views in the Champions League, even as far out as Asia. What will happen then is that the Champions League will sink into the same level of the UEFA Cup (or “Europa League” – yet more Platini meddling! This apparently makes the tournament more attractive and makes clubs want to win it more!) whilst the English clubs will either break off and form a “Super League” or will form their own version of the Champions League that will be viewed by the masses until the Champions League ceases to exist. How long before we get rid of this arrogant French prick?

Anyway, enough ranting, onto the picks! Let’s just hope no more English fixtures are disrupted by snow!
