FreeEh, despite a decent sunday, I can’t help but recall how torrid saturday was. I don’t think anyone won although I’m open to being corrected if any of you did. It’s just one of those days you write off that happen on occasion but I still get pissed off ’cause all the work I put into it is then wasted due to a freak day. Still, onwards and upwards, eh?
Today’s featured game is the Superligaen clash between Randers and AaB. Hosts Randers have leapt from a good finish last year with European football this season to bottom of the table after seven games with just one point this season and no European football due to an early exit. Suffice to say that Randers are feeling the heat at the moment! The story is the same for them as it is for clubs usually in their predicament – they’re scoring too few and conceding too many. However, the fact remains that they can still be a decent side on their day. AaB, by contrast, are in top form with five wins in their seven appearances this season. The visitors are an odd side as they play brilliant football sometimes and look capable of beating anyone or they don’t turn up at all and lose to a poor opponent. However, this season they seem intent on being more consistent with their quality and it’s certainly shown thus far. Although there isn’t masses between these two sides, the visitors are marginally better and are in a lot better form. Randers just don’t have any momentum to utilise against AaB which will harm them. The visitors have everything in their favour and that’s the reason I think 6/5 on the away looks a good bet today.

Politehnica Iasi vs Universitatea Craiova – away win at 15/8. According to the bookies, this is a very dubious bet but I’m not so sure. True, the visitors have lost both of their away games this season but the fact remains that they are the better side and are capable of much better displays and results. The hosts were fortunate to stay in this division last year. I don’t think they’ll have that fortune this year. It’s still early on in the season but it could be worthwhile taking Universitatea Craiova to win at Politehnica Iasi at 15/8 although draw no bet is a viable option as I can’t see the hosts winning this one.
