Today’s secondary featured game is the Ykkonen game between Viikingit Helsinki and Jippo Joensuu.
Viikingit have looked good in recent games, playing with plenty of belief and attacking potency. It seems that their youngsters have finally gelled and are ready to upset fellow Ykkonen sides. They’re not quite the top three sides that they were a few years ago but they’re certainly in the chasing pack and as they demonstrated at bitter rivals PK-35 Helsinki lately – anything is possible. They’ve now scored in five out of their last six games and their only failing was at superior RoPS Rovaniemi in a spirited display which sadly resulted in a 2-0 loss. They tend to score at least two goals per game and concede freely. I admire the spirit that they have and their new-found ability to put the ball in the net. I won’t go overboard and start backing them to beat sides just yet but they’re good enough to score goals and cause problems, which is what I expect from them today.
Jippo are one of the more defensive Ykkonen sides but their counter-attacking and attacking in general has been very, very good lately. Seven consecutive games of theirs have gone over 2.5 goals; I can’t remember the last time that happened. Jippo are very much an unders side but they’ve really come on lately. Don’t get me wrong; they’re a mid-table side at best but they’re working really well as a unit and sides are finding it hard to play against them. They were unlucky to lose against AC Oulu recently; only bad defending cost them points. Jippo are more than capable of getting a result here, if they so desire. I’m sure that they’ll go for it, though, and that makes me think that we’ll see goals.
Most bookies have shortened the odds but some have held the line out at 4/5, which really appeals to me. Taking over 2.5 goals looks good to me today.
Verdict: Over 2.5 goals at 4/5. Why not bet on this game now at William Hill?
